Apply for NZFAP Plus
THE NZFAP PLUS CERTIFICATION PROCESS

1. Apply
Complete the NZFAP Plus application form. To become NZFAP Plus certified, you'll first need to be NZFAP certified, but you can apply for both at the same time.

2. Self-assessment
Complete the online self-assessment within 60 days.

3. Membership
Become a member of NZFAP Plus.

4. Work-on/Audit
Work towards meeting the Standard. Request and complete your audit when ready. This must be done within three (3) years, with yearly self-assessment required until audit is completed.

5. Certification
Confirmation of NZFAP Plus certification, once any CARs issued have been closed (within 30 days of audit).

6. Recertification
Within three (3) years, you'll be re-audited, to maintain your NZFAP Plus certification.
1-3. Application and Self-assessment
Start by completing the NZFAP Plus application form and sending it to nzfapplus@qconz.co.nz*
You’ll be sent a link to an online self-assessment that you’ll need to complete and return within 60 days, at which point you will become an NZFAP Plus Member.
This self-assessment will help you understand where your farm currently sits against each requirement. You can then either request an audit or work towards meeting the Standard and then request an audit when you’re ready.
*You’ll need to be NZFAP certified to join this programme.
NZFAP PLUS CERTIFICATION PROCESS
4-5. Audit within three years
Whichever route you choose, you’ll need to be audited within three years of joining NZFAP Plus.
If you’re an NZFAP Plus Member and working towards meeting the Standard, you’ll need to complete a self-assessment checklist annually.
Once you’ve completed your self-assessment checklist, you might find you’re ready to request an audit immediately, or you may need more time.
Remember, this is a continuous improvement programme and is very much about working through this in your own time, within the three-year timeframe.
