New Zealand Farm Assurance Incorporated (NZFAI) is owned and funded by its members, who collectively represent over 95% of New Zealand's beef, sheep, deer, and wool production.
NZFAI owns and manages both the New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme (NZFAP) and New Zealand Farm Assurance Programme Plus (NZFAP Plus). These are voluntary, independently audited, nationwide farm assurance programmes.
In 2021 wool companies joined NZFAI and a new wool facility and exporter traceability standard was implemented, to ensure the integrity of certified wool products.
Management of New Zealand Land Transport Assurance (NZLTA) was incorporated under NZFAI in December 2024, consolidating supply chain assurance for red meat and wool under one organisation.
TIMELINE
2017
NZFAP launched as national standard under the Red Meat Profit Partnership (RMPP).
2020
NZFAI established and takes ownership of NZFAP.
2021
NZFAP Plus launched. Wool facility and exporter traceability standard implemented.
2024
Management of NZLTA incorporated under NZFAI, to complete supply chain assurance.

Our people
Nick Beeby
CHAIR
Nick is the Independent Chair of New Zealand Farm Assurance Incorporated (NZFAI). He is also CEO of the New Zealand Meat Board and has a farm in Hawke's Bay which he farms in partnership with his brother.
Megan Mounsey-Smith
GENERAL MANAGER
Born and raised on a sheep and beef farm in the Manawatū, Megan joined New Zealand Farm Assurance Incorporated (NZFAI) as General Manager in 2021.
Prior to joining NZFAI, Megan was acting CEO for the Red Meat Profit Partnership (RMPP) programme. The development of NZFAP was one of the outcomes delivered as part of this programme.
